Description
A fire blanket is a blanket that can be placed over a fire to extinguish it at an early stage. The fabric is made of woven fiberglass, a material that is very difficult to ignite. By depriving the fire of oxygen, the blanket extinguishes the flames. A fire blanket is suitable for putting out a small fire, up to the size of a soccer ball, or for extinguishing a clothing fire.
For a deep fryer fire (also known as an oil or fat fire or flame in the pan), a fire blanket is not an appropriate extinguishing agent!
Instructions for Use
- Pull the fire blanket out of the bag using the straps
- Hold the fire blanket by the straps in front of your body for protection against the flames
- Place the fire blanket over the fire source and leave it in place until the fire is extinguished.
- Replace the fire blanket after use.
