Description
CO₂ extinguishers are suitable for extinguishing liquid fires (fire class B) and fires in electrified equipment. The biggest advantage of a carbon dioxide snow extinguisher is that the extinguishing agent (CO₂) leaves no residues upon use. The CO₂ gas suffocates the fire and then dissipates into the surrounding air. As a result, it does not cause damage to sensitive equipment and materials. CO₂ is therefore used, among other things, in high-end electronic equipment where water-based extinguishing agents, such as foam, should not be used.
