Requirements for first aid kits for companies
- The first aid kit must be within reach, and you should be able to grab it within half a minute.
- It must also have a holder that allows it to be clearly visible and mounted on the wall. Furthermore, it should be easy to open.
- The Oranje Kruis recommends checking the first aid kit every six months. This includes checking both the contents and the expiration dates of sterile products.
- The described contents are a minimum package; the box must have enough space to be expanded based on specific risks or experiences according to the company situation.
- The first aid kit must contain clear instructions for use, as well as instructions detailing the First Aid Procedures. Here, you can read how to act in various accidents.
- A company is responsible for the contents of the first aid kit; maintenance (checking expiration dates and replenishment) can be outsourced. You can also handle this with us. For more information, see our page Maintenance of first aid kits.
