Description
Compression and support bandages are often applied for a longer period, which can lead to skin reactions. Thanks to the special skin-friendly adhesive layer, Acrylastic possesses all the properties expected from such bandages.
Properties
Acrylastic is a skin-colored, longitudinally stretchable bandage made of 100% cotton. The maximum stretch of the bandage is 60% (short stretch). The elastic material can be molded snugly, even around the most contoured and irregular body parts. Acrylastic has woven chain threads that provide durable, powerful support and compression. Even after prolonged use, elasticity is retained. Acrylastic bandages can be applied easily and quickly, offering reliable fixation that does not shift. The adhesive layer guarantees a particularly skin-friendly adhesive strength that is highly durable. Even sensitive skin can tolerate Acrylastic without any issues. Furthermore, Acrylastic can be painlessly removed from very hairy skin. The surface of Acrylastic is water-repellent. Since the bandage does not contain radiation-absorbing components, Acrylastic does not need to be removed during radiological examinations or radiation therapies. If desired, Acrylastic can be sterilized in an autoclave. Additionally, the bandage is easy to unroll and has a shelf life of 3 years.
Applications
- As a compression, support, or relieving bandage for injuries to ligaments, muscles, and joints
- As a functional support and relieving bandage, for example, after sprains, dislocations, tendon and muscle disorders, and for the prevention of injuries (taping).
- As a corrective bandage for correcting body posture
- As a functional immobilization bandage, for example, in the case of a clavicle fracture or after the removal of a plaster cast.
- As a compression bandage to improve venous return in cases of insufficiency of the venous and lymphatic system.
- As a compression bandage.
- As a skin-protective underlayer for functional bandages with non-elastic surgical tapes.
