Description
A fire blanket is a blanket that can be placed over a fire to extinguish it in an early stage. The fabric is made of a non-flammable or very poorly flammable material, possibly coated with a fire-resistant agent.
By suffocating the fire with the blanket, it extinguishes the flames. The extinguishing agent is suitable for small fires.
A fire blanket is NOT a suitable extinguishing agent for deep fryer fires (also known as oil and fat fires or flames in a pan)!
Instructions for use
- Pull the fire blanket out of the container by the straps.
- Hold the fire blanket by the straps in front of your body for protection against the flames.
- Place the fire blanket over the fire source and leave it there until the fire is out.
- Replace the fire blanket after use.
