Properties
Leukotape classic is made from non-stretch, white cotton fabric. The tape has high adhesive and tensile strength. The zinc oxide-rubber adhesive provides excellent adhesion, both on the skin and on any protective underlayer. Even under heavy stress, the tape remains securely in place. The rigidity of the material provides a stabilizing effect, both mechanically and proprioceptively.
The outside of the carrier material is impregnated and water-repellent. The plastic core of Leukotape classic has rounded edges, so it does not cut into the skin when unwound.
Leukotape classic is, thanks to the lightly serrated edge, easy to tear by hand lengthwise or widthwise, making the use of scissors unnecessary. This tearability does not affect the tensile strength of the carrier material, allowing Leukotape classic to absorb significant forces.
Thanks to an advanced production method, Leukotape classic adheres excellently to itself, while the entire roll can still be effortlessly unwound. Additionally, Leukotape classic has a shelf life of no less than 5 years.
Applications
- As a functional immobilization bandage, for instance after distortions, contusions, and dislocations.
- As sports tape for the preventive taping of joints, ligaments, and muscles.
